Alcaucin Valley
A fabulous, detached 2 bedroom villa, situated close to Lake Viñuela in the Alcaucin valley and within easy distance of all local amenities. This property has been furnished for the owner’s personal use and is comfortable and modern in style. This property is an ideal summer holiday location and has home from home comforts. From the roof top sun terrace you can enjoy spectacular views across the countryside, or just laze the day away in the large family pool. At night enjoy a cooling drink on the veranda, or watch SKY television in the air conditioned lounge.
The villa is located in one of the most beautiful areas of the Axarquia region of Andalucia. Set in a small enclave of individual villas, the property is within easy distance of the local village of Puente de Don Manuel (Mr. Manuel's Bridge). The villages of Periana, Viñuela and Alcaucin are within easy distance and all hold local fiestas throughout the summer. Around the lake itself there are some lovely restaurants (including an Indian tented restaurant). In the village there are various bars and restaurants, both Spanish and English and music and entertainment is available most evenings in the summer. 10 minutes away is the Arab town of Velez, with its old stone walls and the fabulous indoor food market. The Axarquia valley boasts 40 white-washed villages for you to explore, all with their own traditions and festivals, Comares, Rio Gordo, Benamargosa etc. In the local village of Los Romanes you can purchase olive oil from the local crops. Here you can enjoy the Real Spain.
Indoor facilities
All bedrooms and the lounge are fully air-conditioned, hot/cold. The open plane kitchen, leading from the lounge has modern wood units with a black granite work top and breakfast bar. Stainless steel accessories compliment the beautiful design, including oven, hob, microwave oven and washing machine. The outside space is large and comfortable, with a lovely patio and barbeque, which offers welcome shade in the summer months. From here you can sit on the comfortable outside furniture and enjoy the views to the pool. For the serious sunbathers, take the steps to the secluded roof top sun terrace and toast yourself in this sun trap.
The Area
Just a short distance from the villa is the local village of Puente de Don Manuel. Here you will find restaurants bars and a small ‘corner shop’. Just up the road is the famous Arkwrights British store (open all hours), which sells EVERYTHING. There is a fabulous butcher and bakers and there are additional restaurants, both Spanish and European.
Around the lake there are some fantastic restaurants (including the Indian tented restaurant, 5 minutes away). On the lake there is a fantastic deli, where you can try the wines, cheeses and chorizos before you buy. Sleeping:
The villa comprises 2 bedrooms in total; 1 king with en-suite facilities and 1 twin. Both with fitted wardrobes and air con. There is a further family bathroom, fully tiled in a modern design. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use. Please bring beach towels.
Entertainment:
The villa has a television, both with SKY TV and DVD.
Eating & living:
There is room for 5 to sit comfortably in the living room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere in the winter. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, fridge/ freezer, a kettle and a toaster. You will also find a washing machine, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.
